If organizing weddings is an art, then Bo Joy is our Michelangelo. A fashion designer by trade, she is in love with all things beautiful, elegant, and creative. No wonder that after traveling the world – and organizing weddings along the way from the United States to Europe – she chose to settle in Italy. A place synonymous with love, romance, and sophistication.
Bo Joy has extensive experience in organizing events. Over the past seventeen years she has been the brains behind all kinds of events of corporate and governmental character in countries like the USA, Great Britain, Italy, and Bulgaria.
She believes in perfectly planned and delightfully detailed events. And really a few people actually say “delightfully” when talking about all the technicalities that go along with organizing a wedding. Bo Joy is one of those people. A self-motivated and passionate organizer, she believes in providing superb client service at every turn. No details are small enough to get overlooked and no amount of work is too much when the perfect wedding or event is concerned.

SNEAK PEEK INTO THE PAST OF OUR BRAND
“A gateway to blessings for all willing to go through”
“Bo Creations” started in the year 2007. Bo Joy had one very loud dream in her heart – blessing people through something she builds from the ground up, something that by any mean could gather in one place if not all then most of her best qualities. She started by handcrafting unique wedding stationery and floral arrangements. With a keen eye for details and a sense of aesthetics that only a fashion designer can have, she set forth creating by hand unique and sophisticated patterns on each and every wedding invitation, albums, gifts, cards, seating charts and all-things related to weddings. Flowers, another of her passions, also became artworks, never attested, but always bringing joy to any venue and happy occasion.
And still, something was missing. Something was not fully aligned with her heart’s dream. Blessing through handmade products and flower decorations was not what was “gathering in one place most or all of her best qualities”.
2007
“How about you organize our wedding as well?”
A little less than a year after Bo Joy’s small business of blessing people and making them happy had taken off, two customers – a couple, themselves happily engaged – came up with a question: “You are so good in creating gorgeous details for weddings, how about you organize our wedding as well?”
That was what Bo Creations was born for! The “creations”, part of the company, were meant to be physical manifestations of blessing and happiness. The flowers, the decoration, the stationary… But organizing an entire wedding day – that really was what Bo had initially in her heart, mind and conversations with God!
People who know Bo are unlikely to be surprised by her answer. It was, without any hesitation: “Yes, let’s do this!”.
2008
from weddings to events
Fast forward two years after the momentous question of our first married couple, Bo Creations was a different business. In fact, the company had rebranded itself and was now called - “Wedding agency Bo Creations”. As you might have guessed - the first wedding was a resounding success. So much so, that the word-of-mouth marketing was working in full swing without any real effort on behalf of Bo Joy. All she did was to post pictures of past events on social media.
Happy couples simply kept on recommending her and her credentials as a wedding planner were now on par with her craftsmanship in handmade art. So yet another strange question came by. After seeing her work online, a client came by with a request.
“So how do you imagine your wedding day?”, something of this sort must have been the first question given by Bo in the conversation. Imagine how awkward it must have been, when it turned out that these clients were actually looking to hire Bo Creations for planning series of corporate events.
2010
the event portfolio grows
When business starts to really take off, it usually speeds up as it grows. Such was the case with Bo and her by now not-so-small enterprise. Needless to say, another rebranding was in order. Bo Creations had now added “Weddings and events” to its name. Unsurprisingly, in 2011 came the first governmental clients.
While these are events like any other in some aspects, key requirements mean a lot here. Public etiquette, protocol and procedures make all the difference. The first customers were based in Bulgaria, but high profile clients such as the US and French Embassies in Sofia gave Bo an international clout. Soon this translated into making events abroad as well. Ambassadors, different US military agencies like the US Marine Corps and NATO, even ministries were among the customers at this stage.
And all the while, weddings never stopped. The floral design, the stationary, decorating the venues etc. Everything was running smoothly within the different departments of Bo Creations.
2011
first destination weddings
Switzerland, United Kingdom and Croatia hosted some of the first weddings abroad that Bo Joy organized. Mixed couples were usually the culprits. Some wanted to organize a wedding in a country, different than their primary residence, others wanted to do it closer to the home and relatives they had left behind at some point in their lives.
Whatever the reasons, the idea of organizing “destination weddings” was born. In a way, it is not new. People have famously been married by Elvis in Las Vegas for decades, or at other party-friendly locations. But, here at Bo Creations, the approach was always different. It was always about exclusivity and the finest sensations - from cuisine, to music and art.

WRITING DOWN AN EVENT SCENARIO
We go through building personal check lists, writing down wedding or event day scenarios, speeches etc. We define the entire wedding or event design as well as the dress code. We discuss, and choose the attire and all accessories. Towards the end of the second stage of the planning and organization of your noteworthy occasion, we are ready with all things important.

YOU CAN ALMOST TASTE THE EVENT
In fact - you can do it literally. It is customary to have a taste of the menu options before the event itself. While these tastings may differ from venue to venue, we always strive to give you multiple options to choose from, prepared from some of the best chefs we work with. Should you choose Italy as your destination, tradition mandates that you pair good food with good wine - an essential part of the tasting. Regardless of location - everything from cakes to liquor and refreshments can be put on the table for the test, should you request it. For a couple organizing a wedding - this is a genuinely fun time for bonding and getting to know the place better. For any other type of event, this is an opportunity for the client to gauge the options and choose whichever suits the occasion best.

Working hard behind the scenes
The guests at any event see only a small part of all the work that goes into organizing it. Of course, that is generally a good thing, because it means that all the equipment, catering services, performers and all other staff have been coordinated perfectly, never standing in the way of the party, all the while making it silently work. However, you will notice it all and having the right coordinator on the day makes all the difference.

THE BIG DAY
Everything is finalized at this point. All the vendors know their cues and all the guests have been attended to. The wedding planners are up and about, making sure that nothing and on one is left out. All you have to do is say the magic words: “I DO”.
